Writing at the End of the World

Galicia is at the end of the world.  Set around with mountains that protect it from the influence of the outside world, this territory in the far north west of Spain has looked out towards the sun setting over the Atlantic for centuries with its own quiet blend of fantasy and remorse.

Galician literature has a unique blend of humour, sadness, love of the country and outrage.  It deserves to be better known in the English-speaking world and the purpose of this blog is to publish translations of some of my favourite authors so that people can make up their own minds about it.

Enjoy.
